Sleep Tight, Have a Silent Night.

I would quickly like to talk about a experience I had last night, to some readers this will make me sound like a crazy 11th Century monk, but it felt it a little strange.
I have just woken up and remember the dream quite well and I have not altered what happened in it.

Over the last few days, I have been questioning my faith again and getting a little worried that I may lose it, I really need to go to Church soon!
Anyway, before I went to bed I was planning not to do my evening prayer but decided to in the end and asked for a sign that I should continue to worship and stay on the Christian path on so on...

The strange part was that I had a dream where I was in an Islamic bookshop looking for a Koran to buy for some reason and they had so many, I was really annoying the shop keeper by asking him to get down every book for me to inspect (sounds like me!) but could not decide which one to buy. Then I noticed a carboard book on the floor and saw a little brown Koran in it and asked to have a look at it because it looked the right size and perfect. He picked it up and it said 'Holy Bible' on the cover.

I have always believed that dreams may contain messages, foretell the future and have meanings. I asked for a sign to continue my with my faith and I have a dream where I am in a Islamic bookshop full of Islamic books and Korans that are stacked high and I pick a small brown book hiding in a box in the corner that turns out to be a Bible and people have about eight dreams a night and that it is the only one that I remembered.

So could this be the sign I asked for a just a simple strange dream?

It would be great to hear your views on this.

I would say it was a sign. I dont think things just happen as coincidences. You prayed a prayer when you were not going to, and then u have this dream - and God can speak to us in many different ways - and I sometimes it is dreams.
If you ask God for something - He will answer.

Anyways thats my thoughts on it. What a cool dream!

Yeah, I believe it was a sign as I do not often have dreams like that and rarely remember any dreams and I also believe that most things happen for a reason.

I have always believed that God wants me to say on the Christian path because of certain events in my life and that was most likely a reminder.

Thank You

hey man
i think there are three things we must keep/start doing if we are unsure about our faith.
1)keep reading the Bible and praying.
2)keep going to church
3)keep spending time with Christians.

they're probably the three things we'll stop doing but the three things that are the most vital to us!

Hi Ed

'Hear! Hear!' That was well put. We do need those three things the most.

I don't think you need a sign to carry on with your faith. All the sign you need is the Cross and the Gospel...God wants all His sheep to follow Him, if you are indeed His sheep, you will follow Him as his Grace is irresistable.

Rather then asking God for a sign, laying down the fleece as it were. Why don't you show God how faithful you are to Him? What can you do to Glorify Him, rather then what He can do for you and for Him to show how worthy He is, because He has already blessed you.

What Ed said was good to.

Pray about your dream, there may be more to it then you think?

I see a little of what you mean Cat, but I am faithful to God and do glorify in God's name and very rarely ask God to do things for me, because I know God does bless me everyday and I thank God in my prayers everyday.

But once in a while a person may need to talk to God directly and ask for advice as well as reading the gospel.

Whether God replies or not, I still feel blessed. But God did and told me to continue to follow the Gospel.

Thank you
